The Eileen Roth Memorial Award

Eileen Roth was a PUSD Library Coordinator for over 40 years, first at Noyes Elementary and finally at Longfellow Elementary. She was committed to serving her students, scheduling library class visits every two weeks throughout the school year and allowing individual students to visit the library each lunch period. She also had experience working with adults at the San Marino Public Library and the UCLA Library Archive, which greatly helped recruit parent volunteer shelvers.

Purpose of Award: to recognize a PCC student who is receiving a Certificate of Achievement from the Library Technology Certificate Program and is preparing for work in a library or related information-services setting.

Minimum GPA: 3.0

Additional preference: A student who has served an internship in an elementary school or public library children’s department, or has experience working with elementary age students, and demonstrates a commitment to volunteering, service, and helping others.
