The Hagop M. Seropian Armenian Spirit Scholarship
The Armenian people and their culture, rich with ancient traditions, vibrant art, unique language,
early religion, and collectivist values, have faced at-times catastrophic challenges throughout
their several-millennia-long history. Yet, in the face of even the gravest threats of extinction,
Armenians have not only survived but have expanded their reach and contributions worldwide,
serving as a modern-day example of cultural resilience and fortitude.
This scholarship seeks to award those students who demonstrate the resilient Armenian spirit
as they work toward their own educational goals.
To apply for this scholarship, please provide the following:
- A personal statement in which you:
- _a. Define the Armenian spirit and identify how you see its qualities unfold in your
- educational journey;
- b. Your understanding of the Armenian culture, including but not limited to your
- previous and current interactions with the Armenian community;
- c. Explain how you see your future educational and professional plans impacting
- the Armenian community._
- Your involvement in extracurricular activities that support local communities (note that
- these opportunities need not focus specifically on the Armenian community);
- A letter of recommendation from a non-family member who can speak to your skills and
- strengths; and
- Your financial need, if any, and how this scholarship will support your journey in higher
- education.
