Ethnic Studies

Goal: To recognize and encourage students in the field of ethnic studies. Ethnic studies are multidisciplinary and include African American studies, Asian American studies, Chicano/Latino studies, Indigenous studies, and race relation studies.
Award Amount: $300 to be presented at the Social Sciences Awards Ceremony.

*Minimum Qualifications: *
1. 2.75 minimum cumulative GPA.
2. Completed less than 99 units.
3. Enrolled in or completed 3 ethnic studies core courses or related fields in the last 2 years (see list). Ethnic Studies core courses are preferred.
4. Completed application to include:
_a) Completed 1-page application form
b) Copy of transcript showing minimum qualifications
c) 600-word autobiography describing (1) your personal background; (2) your activities, employment history, extracurricular activities, leadership roles, language competences, and the like; and (3) your educational and career goals; and
d) Availability for a possible interview._
