James Galbraith Journalism

The purpose of the James R. Galbraith Journalism Scholarship Fund is to make an annual award to a qualified student enrolled in the Journalism program at Pasadena City College. Scholarships will be awarded to Journalism students with a GPA of 3.0 or above who have financial need. Students must be continuing at PCC in the following semester or transferring to a four-year institution.

James R. Galbraith is a PCC alumnus and earned an Associates in Arts degree in 1955. His first encounter in Journalism was lower-division courses and was asked to join the PCC Athletics Press Bureau. He covered PCC sports for the local newspapers through the bureau as well as service as Yearbook Sports Editor, eventually joining a local Pasadena newspaper as a full-time sportswriter after graduation.

Mr. Galbraith was Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Hilton Hotels Corporation and has been a Board Member on the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.
