Dona Mitoma and Marvin Inouye
Dona Mitoma and Marvin Inouye are teachers who believe in the power of education. Dona was a librarian and English professor who taught for 20 years at Pasadena City College. She also was a school librarian at the junior and senior high school levels.
Marvin taught photography for over 30 years at Schurr High School in Montebello where he worked with students who often had great potential but not the means to further their education. We hope this scholarship assists students in attaining their life goals.
We encourage students to “pay it forward” by helping others in the future. You can mentor or donate to the scholarship drives when you can. We honor your efforts and would very much like to hear of your progress. The Pasadena City College Foundation office can forward any communications to Dona Mitoma and Marvin Inouye.
Impact
The Mitoma and Inouye Scholarship has allowed me to continue my education at Pasadena City College in making sure I am able to purchase school supplies and textbooks for the upcoming semester as well as continue my hopes to transfer to a four year university.
