Risser Outstanding Teacher Award

Currently enrolled Pasadena City College students and staff have an opportunity to nominate PCC faculty members for the annual Risser Outstanding Teacher Award, which is presented annually to a full-time, tenure track or tenured PCC faculty member. ONLY currently enrolled students may start the nomination process of a deserving faculty member; fellow students and other college employees may participate in the process by signing the nomination form(s). The recipient receives a cash award and their name on the Risser Outstanding Teacher Recognition Plaque, the highest honor for faculty at PCC.

Criteria for the award include:
1) Quality of instruction;
2) Inspiration to students;
3) Fair, understandable evaluation and grading;
4) Loyalty to the college and to our country; and
5) Number of times teacher was nominated. (Please note that previous recipients are not eligible.)

  1. Nominations for the Risser “Outstanding Teacher Award” MUST HAVE no less than 50 signatures. To download the nomination form, click HERE. Upload the scanned and signed form when complete. You may add more than 50 signatures.
